The Huaetet are adapted to the very hot, very dry and open Natye Desert. They are whipcord lean and very thin of build, with very long limbs. This allows them the maximum surface area for loosing the heat from day-sleep and swift, graceful movement across sand. The downside of this is being very vulnerable to being knocked down or stunned by heavy blows or shockwave effects. The skin is sandy-yellow in color, and thick and leathery. The skin's inner layers are adapted to powerful osmotic pressure changes like those from when salty or brackish water, but the downside of this is that fresh water damages and makes swell painfully the cells in their skin.
In some cases, the skin begins to slough off from damage. They have no body hair, and head hair that is changed into thick, dark, tightly braided strands. They use this braids as heat shields from the heat of the ground during day-sleep. The eyes are small, deep set and bright yellow in color. Like many clans, they have an nictitating membrane, serving to clean and protect from the find, sharp sand. The ears are very large, pointed and adapted to moving heat out of the body via a system of blood vessels under the skin.
Inside the ears, the canals have heavy narrowing and complex protective skin fold and internal hairs, to act as a sand filter and windbreak. This also leads to being highly vulnerable to pressure build-up and excruciating pain when exposed to changes in barometric pressure. Their hearing is also impaired by this adaption. The nose has highly convoluted nasal passages with extra mucus-producing glands as to keep out the sand and lower extra mucus-producing glands. This is an adaption to the very dry air, but leads to their sinuses being very sensitive to sudden temperature drops.
The teeth are sharp, serrated and fragile, changed for quick cutting and rapid blood flow when drinking from thick-skinned desert prey. These teeth are easy to chip and break on hard materials. Claws are adapted as digging tools, not cutting tools for fast digging of dens for day-sleep. These claws have spoon-like tips and thick bases as to quickly move sand. The claws are bad climbing tools and poor weapons. Feet are wide and flat, and with fibrous pads, adapted for moving over soft sand via spreading their weight.
With this, it makes them loud and clumsy if they move over rocky or hard ground. The bones are adapted to be unusually flexible in the spine and joints. This allows them to hide in even small holes in the rocks to hide from the sun. The downside of this is a lack of lifting or leverage power, making them weaker for heavy work. The digestive system is adapted glandular modifications allowing them to recycle blood and plasma from their blood intake. The blood is thick, dark and with less water then other clans as to save on water and mass.
The downside of this is a weakness to blood loss, heart attack and stokes. Lungs have modification to act as internal moisture condensation surfaces alongside their normal use. The flip side of this is humid air overwhelms this system. This leads to the system being waterlogged and an temporary drowning sensation, or in some cases, drowning.
