The Wialshy are adapted to the pitch black, abrasive, humid Anyeri Hard Rock Erosional Caves. They are compact, low to ground, and wedge shaped of build. Their limbs are powerful and short. This is an adaption to scrambling and leverage in confined spaces. The downside of this is being unable to swim or climb as they are too heavy. They skin is pigment-less, translucent and has an tough, keratinized dermal layer. This is an adaption to resist abrasion from constant contact with jagged rock. This is to aid in water intake. There are also adaption to maximize oxygen absorption in water. This allows them to stay underwater for a long amount of time. The downside of this hyper absorbent skin is being vulnerable to airborne spores, poisons and smoke.Under the skin are layers of tough, shock-absorbing adipose tissue. Most of it is around major joints and the rib cage. This is an adaption to protect from impacts on rock. This tissue is heavy and dense, and is part if why they cannot swim.

The hair has been reduced to fine, sensory whiskers around the joints and head. These are adapted to detect air currents and nearby objects in the absolute darkness. These hairs are fragile and easy to damage. Their eyes are deeply set, vestigial and with an thin, tough, transparent membrane. They are blind, with an atrophied lens and iris. The ears are highly mobile, large and dish shaped. The inner ears are hyper-developed. These ears have fluid-filled channels that act as a sophisticated echo-location and directional hearing system.

The nose is a flat broad thing with horizontal slits rather than typical nostrils. The nose has very dense olfactory receptors specialized in detecting trace pheromones and organic decay. The teeth are short, square and very strong. These teeth are for grinding and crushing hard insect exoskeletons and small bones.
